Board member of Accra Hearts of Oak, Mr. Frank Nelson, says majority of their fans who troop to the Accra Sports Stadium to watch the team’s matches don’t pay the expected gates fees but still make their way into the stadium to watch matches.
Hearts have suffered numerous set back in recent times with the issue of financial inadequacy largely contributing to the dwindling fortunes of the club.
Speaking on the Football Legends Night Show on GH ONE TV yesterday, Mr. Nelson highlighted how this behaviour by Hearts fans is affecting their financial capacity as they confronted with the challenges of running the day-to-day affairs of the club.
He said: ” Go to the stadium when we play a match, you can see 40,000 fans seated, maybe 5000 didn’t pay or maybe 5000 paid and 35000 didn’t pay, this is the difference between Hearts and Kotoko and I always say this without number.
“Our supporters want to always get to the stadium, but when they get there they become worry-some, troublesome and you even want to avoid the stadium yourself,” Nelson said on the Football Legends Night Show on GH One TV yesterday.
Meanwhile, there is expected stakeholders meeting scheduled to take place over the weekend with various pertinent issues affecting the club as the look to curb the escalating wranglings.
