Tottenham are the latest side facing high-flying Manchester City
Hello good afternoon and welcome to another day of English Premier League football. The Premiership enters Match Day 17 this weekend and at 15:00 GMT there are five games to look forward to.
The big game for the day is at 17:30 GMT, when Manchester City welcome Tottenham Hotspurs to the Etihad stadium.
Tottenham are the latest side facing the unenviable task of attempting to inflict a first Premier League defeat of the season on high-flying Manchester City.
But Mauricio Pochettino’s side have prevailed in such tasks.
Last season they won 2-0 against Pep Guardiola’s side who, until then, had won all six of their opening league matches.
It would also be Spurs who would end Chelsea’s 13-match winning streak by a victory of the same scoreline.
Spurs are unbeaten in their last four matches with City, including the fightback from 2-0 down to draw at the Etihad last season. So can they stop the marauding City side? Only time will tell.
