Ghanaian boxers Brimah Kamoko and counterpart Bastie Samir have both missed out on nominations for boxer of the year after SWAG (Sports Writers Association Ghana) released the list of outstanding sports men and women for the 43rd SWAG Awards Night.

The controversial duo pulled scores of people to the Bukom Arena in Accra in what was probably the most well attended boxing event of the year but could not do enough to get their names on the list that included Isaac Dogboe and Duke Micah (WBC Int. Bantamweight Champion)

Bastie defeated Brimah Kamoko who is widely known as Bukom Banku ending his then unbeaten run and bringing his own record to (16-0-1, 15 KO’s) after the fight.

This however could not earn him a place on the list of Isaac Dogboe who fights in the Bantamweight division and WBC Int. Bantamweight Champion Duke Micah who both enjoy more international appeal.
