Tony Yeboah lauds Oppong Weah for making footballers proud

Former Black Stars and Eintracht Frankfurt goal poacher Tony Yeboah has lauded ex-football star George Oppong Weah for putting smile on the faces of footballers and making them proud as well following his swearing-in as Liberia's president.

Tony was among the few retired footballers privileged to have gotten themselves a personal invite by the former PSG, Monaco, Chelsea, Milan, Marseille, Manchester City player.

Weah upon his election to power as Liberia's current president becomes not the first retired sports-man to enter into the field of politics but follows ex-Brazilian star Emilio (congress member at the parliament house of Brazilian), former world heavyweight boxer Vlardemir Klitschko (Mayor for Kiev), and former WBO world welterweight boxer Manny Pacquiao (Senator for Philippians) and a host others.

"Weah has indeed made footballers proud and l'm really happy for him," Yeboah told Angel sports.

"His sworn-in ceremony was very great and we as former footballers went there to celebrate with him his remarkable achievement."

The likes of J.J. Okocha, former Zambian international and most capped footballer Kalusha Bwalya (Great Kalu),Kwame Ayew and several others the sporting world graced the occasion.

"The country's citizenrys l must say really loves and desires George as their president spire-heading the nation. Even though there were a host of foreigners who equally vied for the presidency position," Tony added.

Tony Yeboah upon drawing curtains to his interview highlighted he has no desire of becoming a president neither in his long nor short-term ambitions as his colleague ex-footballer George Oppong Weah.
