J.E. Sarpong, Coach
Veteran coach J.E. Sarpong has revealed on Total Sports Review on Rainbow Radio 87.5FM that, he has not been officially informed on why he was sacked as coach for Ebusua Dwarfs.
He however reiterated that, he will never disclose the circumstances that saw him leave the club in 2016. Speaking to host Nhyiraba Kwabena Asirifi, he said, at the appropriate time, the club would come out with the reason for his dismissal but ‘’I will not lead that crusade. I will not be the one to tell you why Dwarfs sacked me. I don’t want to discuss Dwarfs on air.''
Ebusua Dwarfs announced in 2016, the sacking of head coach JE Sarpong following the team’s poor performance in the Ghana Premier League. But JE Sarpong said sacking ‘’is part of the coaching job. So if you are a coach and you are sacked, you don’t have to feel sorry. You just have to pack your things and leave,’’ he added.
‘’I knew I haven’t done anything and so if you have sacked me; I don’t know the reason why you sacked me. You gave me a letter that you have been sacked without giving me the reasons…So why do I come and tell you [Nhyiraba] that, the letter presented to me, gave reasons for my sack? They gave me a letter with three sentences so why should I discuss them? He also reveal on the show that, his relationship between him and the chairman, formed the basis for his refusal to keep mute over the issue because all his benefits including monthly salary, bonuses due him, were paid in full.
