Ghana Football Association vice president George Afriyie is worried about the delay to the start of the local topflight.

The domestic league has been put on hold due to a court order restraining the football governing body from holding Congress, which traditionally ushers in the new season.

The injunction was sought by Great Olympics, who are at war with the FA over its Disciplinary Committee’s decision to throw out protests against Bechem United and Elmina Sharks.

“It is frustrating, I need to admit that because it is not easy but who cause am (sic)?” Afriyie asked.

“It is one of the things we have to find a way to eradicate from our football because it is not helping.

“As a regulatory body, we need to look at our rules and check if there is something we are not doing right, we check and do them because we can't continue like this.”

The 2017-16 league season had been scheduled to kick off on February 10.

An Accra High court, on Tuesday, adjourned the case to February 21, effectively prolonging the waiting period.

Last season, Olympics finished second from bottom on the table, but a ruling in their favour will do well to keep them in the elite division.
