Ghana Premier League side, WAFA SC, have confirmed the transfer of their midfielder Gideon Waja to Toronto FC.
The Sogakope based side announced on Friday that they have reached an agreement with the MLS side over the transfer of Waja.
The Ghanaian club took to their official Twitter page to confirm Waja’s departure.
Waja played a key role as the Black Stars B won the 2017 WAFU Championship which was staged in Ghana.
He captained WAFA to second place in last season’s Ghana Premier League.
WAFA are however confident that they can mount a better challenge for the Ghana Premier League title this season.
The league season which was expected to kick off last weekend has been suspended following the decision of Accra Great Olympics to take the Ghana Football Association to court, over what they term as wrongful demotion to the second tier league.
