The infiltration of betting companies into Ghana football continues as Soccabet becomes the latest betting firm to secure sponsorship deals with 4 Ghanaian clubs.

The locally-owned betting firm on Friday, March 3, 2018, announced sponsorship deals with four Ghanaian Premier League clubs namely Inter Allies, Berekum Chelsea, Abusua Dwarfs and Wa All Stars.

The 3-year renewable partnership between Soccabet and the four clubs will see the logo of the company displayed on the first team jerseys and training kits of these clubs.

Speaking at the unveiling held at the headquarters of Soccabet, former Ghana Football Association Chairman, Alhaji MND Jawula described the union as “marvelous” and commended Soccabet for coming to the aid of the clubs.

Alhaji Jawula noted that the deal is a major boost to the clubs as it comes at a time that the Ghana Premier League is without a headline sponsor and clubs are suffocating financially.

“This is our day because Soccabet, the leading betting company in Ghana has a marvelous package for GPL clubs. Despite the fact that the league is yet to resume due to reasons beyond our control, Soccabet are able to sponsor four of our clubs. This is indeed a marvelous deal and we must clap for Soccabet. This is a company that has spread its tentacles across the length and bre9oadth of Ghana. We (Soccabet) have employed about 1000 people with about 100 shops nationwide. This is huge and it’s a time for us to sponsor premier division clubs and lower division clubs”, Alhaji Jawula said.

The spokesperson for Soccabet, Jamel Marabi posited that his outfit are impressed with the history of the four clubs and are prepared to leverage on them and spread their presence in the country.

“Any successful company should contribute to the development of the

community and football as we all know is the passion of the nation so Soccabet seeks to leverage on the passion of the game and also support the communities. People are very passionate about their teams then you have to support the teams, the players and the managers so it’s a win-win situation for us. We chose these four clubs because of their strategic positioning and because they have won the league before so we are hoping to leverage on that”, he disclosed.

The financial details were however not disclosed.

This news comes weeks after fellow premier league clubs Liberty Professionals, Aduana Stars, Medeama SC and Ashanti gold sealed similar deals with Betway.

New entrants, Dreams FC, also had their fair share of the cake when they signed with Mybet.com.
