New Accra Hearts of Oak signing Christopher Bonney says it is a dream come true to wear the red, yellow and blue jersey of the club.

Christopher Bonney joined Accra Hearts of Oak in the transfer window, after ending his stay with Ebusua Dwarfs.

The 22-year-old is one of the few players to play for two of Ghana's glamorous clubs, Kumasi Asante Kotoko and now Accra Hearts of Oak. Bonney has been training with the club and has been involved in most of the team's preseason games.

The ex-Kotoko defender together with other ten players were unveiled on Wednesday in Accra, and following the outdooring of the squad, Bonney told the club's website it is a "dream come true" to play for Accra Hearts of Oak.

“As a player, you want to play for the biggest teams in the country and having the opportunity to join Hearts is a great feeling for me as a player,” he told accraheartsofoaksc.com

“My hope was to be able to play for Hearts so I would say my dream has come true. I am not here to put promises on the table, but I am here to help the team and do my possible best and build a great relationship with the fans because I am in a great family.”

The right-back who seems to have settled in already in the Phobian fold insists his relationship with his other teammates makes him feel at home. Bonney was part of the Hearts team that beat Kumasi Asante Kotoko to the Ghana @60 Cup in Kumasi and he says it came with a great feeling.

“We know each other already and I am friends with a lot of the boys; so settling in has not been a problem. You might think I have been here for three or four years because of the relationship I have with the rest of the team.

“It was a good feeling playing against my former club and then going on to win a trophy at the end was a big boost. It was a difficult game but I had a good feeling and it was not about proving a point. This is a new challenge.”

Accra Hearts of Oak will host Elmina Sharks in a friendly at the Cape Coast Stadium on Sunday.
