Accra Hearts of Oak were beaten by Elmina Sharks in a preseason friendly on Sunday at the Cape Coast Stadium.
The Ghanaian giants, who will be using the Cape Coast Stadium as their home venue for the upcoming season hosted Sharks, in a game they lost 1-0.
Hearts having started the game on a slow pace saw themselves on the receiving end after a miscommunication between the goalkeeper and his defenders, allowing Benjamin Tweneboah to score the only goal of the game.
The Phobians, however, improved their performance in the second half but could not do enough to grab an equalizer.
The Rainbow club will return to Accra to continue with their preparations. Sharks will make a short trip to Elmina as they also continue with preparations ahead of the new season.
After the defeat to Hearts, New C.EO, Mark Noonan posted on Twitter thanking fans of the club for coming out in numbers to support the team.
Thanks to the #AHOSC supporters who joined us today. Not the result we wanted but we will learn from it and keep building for when the points count. #PHOBIA https://t.co/PhJhC3tSGZ
