Ex-Ghanaian footballer, Prince Tagoe has blamed ex-Black Stars Coach, Milovan Rajevac for his inability to score a single goal at the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa.

Ghana Black Stars was in group D of the 2010 FIFA World Cup which consisted of Germany, Australia, Serbia and Ghana — which along with Group G, were considered to be the 'groups of death' in the competition.

Ghana, who were knocked out in the quarter final stage by Uruguay, scored five goals in the competition.

Three(3) of the goals were scored by the lead striker Asamoah Gyan— while Sulley Muntari and Kelvin Prince Boateng scored One goal each.

Prince Tagoe who was also a striker, failed to score a single goal in the competition. His inability to score in the competition attracted a hefty uproar by most football enthusiasts who couldn’t fathom why a striker of his calibre could not score in such a competition.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with Yaw Ampofo Ankrah and Kokui Selomeh, on Kwese TV, Thursday, monitored by Razzonline.com, Prince Tagoe aka 'Prince of Goals’, who was explaining why he failed to score at the most prestigious football stage said:

“I was not getting the opportunity to play my natural role; because the first time I was called for the qualification, when I was playing my natural role when Asamoah was injured and he was not part of the qualification; Junior Agogo and Mathew Amoah and I qualified Ghana to the world cup and that was when I was scoring because I was playing typical nine.

But because I have speed, and I can tackle sometimes, when the coach (Milivan Rajevac) came and Asamoah came onboard, the coach decided that, he will use me so that I can come back and help the right back so that there wouldn’t be gaps— so I was not supposed to score at the world cup, with the role I was given, I was not even supposed to sometimes get into the 18 too much”, Prince Tagoe explained.
