Black Starlets head coach, Abdul Karim Zito has delved deep into the criteria for selection of players into the National Under 17 team.
Zito revealed that players should have the physique and must to have passed the MRI test in order to make the cut.
“We are putting in a lot of consideration by taking into account the physique of the player which has been our bane as a country at this level” Zito told UTV
“Players must also pass the MRI Scan. I don’t want to build a team that some players will later fail the scan. So far, everybody you see in camp has passed the MRI test to a certain stage.”
He added that currently they are no more picking players through justify as they need players for special positions.
“We’ve reached a stage that we want specific players at specific positions unlike before that players will have to justify before they are selected. We’ve passed that stage. We are gradually teaching them our philosophy and how they should play.”
