German giants Bayern Munich have confirmed that their youth striker Kwasi Wriedt has received a call-up for Ghana's senior national team.

The 23-year-old striker has publicly revealed that Black Stars coach Kwesi Appiah has invited for upcoming matches for the four-time African champions.

Now the Bavarians have confirmed that Bayern II’s star player has received the ultimate dream for any player, a call-up to the senior national team.

"Great award for Kwasi Wriedt! The top scorer of the amateurs of Bayern has been nominated for the upcoming international matches of the national team of Ghana," a Bayern Munich statement on the outstanding player read on Wednesday.

"The team coach Kwesi Appiah has selected him for the tests against two World Cup participants.

"Ghana meets on May 30 in Yokohama for the selection of Japan. The Icelandic national team will play in Reykjavík on 7 June."

Born in Hamburg, Wriedt has represented Ghana at U20 level but had yet to receive a senior appearance.

That is all about to change for the 23-year-old striker.

Wriedt’s season in the Regionalliga Bayern hasn’t gone unnoticed.

Rewarded with an appearance for the Bayern Munich first team in the DFB Pokal against RB Leipzig, Wriedt’s development has taken leaps and bounds since he joined the Bavarian outfit.

Moving to Bayern Munich in 2017, the Ghanaian striker has notched a total of 28 appearances and 20 goals for Bayern’s second team.

Proving to be an exciting prospect, Wriedt caught the attention of the Ghana National Team.

Wriedt will be out to prove a point against his opponents. Starting from humble beginnings at SC Hamm, the striker now faces the prospect of representing the country of his parents’ birth.

An exciting talent for Bayern, Wriedt will be hoping this is the start of something special.
