The maiden edition of DCOP Kwasi Doku tournament did not end as expected owing to rainfall during the men’s doubles games but saw 4 Garrison Tennis Club leading Sakumono Tennis Club 4-2 last weekend at 4 Garrison Officers Mess Tennis Club Kumasi.

The First game for the day was the men’s singles where the home team (4 Garrison) recorded their first victory with Captain of the club Jonathan Quartey beating Nii Borteyael 7-2.

Samuel Gyakye Aidoo added another win to the home side by walloping Festus 7-1. Nii Kwei also hammered Stephen Babson 7-1 and Nana Yaw Wallace humiliated Eugene Mensah 7-0.

Thomas Ohene Effeh brought some joy into the visitors (Sakumono Tennis Club) as he defeated former President of 4 Garrison Samuel Ampedu Kyei (Kyikyiis) 7-3.

In the Women’s doubles, Sakumono Tennis Club’s Tina and Vero paired up to oust Brenda and Krakra 7-2. The men’s doubles was called off due to rainfall.

DCOP Kwasi Doku, in his address, said he was overwhelmed by the support and attendance by all and praised the executives of 4 Garrison led by Officers Mess President S.S Abebe for the good work done.

The dinner came to a close around midnight with members of the two clubs socializing and dancing to some lovely tunes.
