Organisers and a sponsor of the Big Millennium Marathon surprised journalists last Friday when the third Special Raffle was held at the offices of Whirlpool where a new 50 inches Panasonic Flat Screen TV was given to a Sports Presenter, Kusi Boateng of Ahortor Fm and Radio One after his name was picked in a draw.
The event was held at Whirlpool office where others also won in the regular bi-monthly draw. Solomon Otu Mensah who won a refrigerator said he was very happy and knew the Millennium Marathon organisers are fair and firm, Prince Okechuku Jeremiah who also won a microwave said the programme was not partial, but clean, free and fair, while Joshua Gyagaah who got a deep freezer all from Whirlpool encouraged people to register as the raffle is true and very fair.
Registration is still open and more prizes are there for grabs, said Amb. Ashim Morton who is the event director.
He said the preparations for the Millennium Marathon have stepped up with more people hearing and training towards it.
Nii Tackie , Marketing Manager of Whirlpool in Ghana said the Millennium Marathon and Whirlpool are international brands who share similar ideologies like quality production and promoting environmental cleanness and promoting business and tourism.
Mr. Roddy Morgan, an Ambassador of the Millennium Marathon urged Ghanaians to join in the crusade to keep the city clean and thanked the media for their support
He said the first male and female to finish the 21km race will take home $2,500 each, and there are consolation prizes for the second to 10th positions.
Maryah Ismail the Face of the Millennium Marathon East Africa from Tanzania disclosed that there is a brand new Nissan Kicks SUV car also at stake for any participant who is lucky on the day, so far as he or she registers by texting to *800*17# to join in the special Millennium Marathon 2018 raffle.
The fourth mini raffle draw comes off at the same Whirlpool office in Accra.
The Big Millennium Marathon is sponsored by companies like Allianz Insurance, Unilever, Whirlpool (Ederick Ltd), Twellium, Japan Motors, Garmin, Wigal, Papaye, MenzGold, Elite Sports, ddp, Blue Skies, NLA, Can -West, Royal Habits, Smart Books, Impact Clinic, Emirates and Accra Mall.

The Millennium Marathon is approved by the Ministries of Tourism, Health, Youth & Sports as well as the Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA) and the National Sports Authority (NSA).
