Ghana's Para-powerlifting team has stepped up prepations towards the 2018 World Para Powerlifting African Championships, to be held in Algiers, Alegria.
The championship is fixed for 10-12 August 2018, would serve as mandatory qualifier for the All Africa Games as well as the 2020 Paralympic Games in Tokyo.
The team, has intensified their training as they have planned a two-week training program ahead of the competition to fine tune preparations.
Information gathered by GNA Sports, eight para athletes under the guidance of coach Prince Nyarko are currently in camp for the championship.
The team is expected to depart on August 5.
Ghana will be looking to secure at least three spots in para-powerlifting for the upcoming games in Tokyo after failing to qualify for the last edition of the Paralympic games held in Rio.
