It was fun as skill and fitness were on test at the forecourts of the Osu Manste’s Palace last Wednesday, August 29, 2018, when a Taekwondo Competition and Demonstration involving six clubs set the ball rolling for the 2018 Osu Homowo GH Fitness Festival.

All the participants showed that they are capable of doing something when given the opportunity, and they were given certificates after the show.

They exhibited good fighting techniques to the admiration of the fans gathered including chiefs, elders and people who were celebrating their annual festival.

Mr. Arnold Aryee, a top fitness instructor and CEO of Fitness GH and Ultimate Fitness Palace who organized the event urged Ghanaians to be health conscious and exercise regularly to avoid attracting some ailments and sicknesses.

Speaking to media he hinted that Ghanaians are blessed with different sports talents so they are organizing different activities such as Taekwondo, Football, Body Building and Weight Lifting competitions as tools and opportunity to educate and sensitise the people that ‘Sports Is Life and fitness must be projected to a higher level’

According to Aryee, the Fitness GH event comes off at the multipurpose court at the Osu end of the Accra Sports Stadium on September 1, 2018, with a Health Walk through the principal streets of Osu.

He said there would be an Aerobics competition in the morning, before Weight Lifting event in the afternoon.

“It will involve middleweight and heavyweights who will compete in Bench Press, Squarting and other competitions” he explained.

He said in the evening, the climax of the shows come off at the same venue for the Body Flex competition for lightweights, middleweights and heavyweights as well as the Master's event for bodybuilders aged above 45 years.

He hinted that the Football Tournament for ten U13 colts clubs comes off at the Osu Salem Park on September 8, 2018, and its free to the general public.

However, the Bodybuilding event on September 1, 2018, will attract gate fees of 10ghc for Popular Stand, 30ghc for VIP and 100ghc for VVIP which is also strictly by invitation.

Electroland and other companies have shown interest in the festival and are putting up fantastic prizes for winners.

The winner of the Weight Lifting competition will take home 2,000ghc, while the overall winner of the Body building contest will carry home 5,000ghc.

The U13 Football event will be supervised by 13-year-old Samuel Aryee, a grandson of the late legend Sly Tetteh, who has returned from Russia, where he was selected to play and organize football.

Arnold Aryee said his company provides fitness services, such as personal physical training and installation of gym equipment as well as events organization.
