WBO world super bantamweight champion, Isaac Dogboe, is scheduled to return home on Monday after making a successful defence of his title against Hidenori Otake in Glendale, Arizona, last August.

Dogboe (20-0, 14 KOs), who together with Bob Arum’s Top Rank announced a long-term co-promotional agreement with the American firm last Tuesday, is expected to touch down to a grand welcome at the Kotoka International Airport.

According to Dogboe’s father and trainer, Paul Dogboe, the 24-year-old hard hitter is returning to Ghana to resume preparations towards his upcoming title defence against a yet-to-be-named opponent at the Madison Square Gardens on December 8.

In an exclusive interview with the Graphic Sports Online, Paul said: “Isaac will be arriving home on October 8 to a grand welcome since he is now coming to Ghana for the first time since defending his title against Hidenori Otake”.

“We have a fight in December and the training will kick-start soon when he arrives. It will be in New York and on the Lomachenko-Pedraza card,” he added.

Dogboe will be hoping to finish the year on a high, having already despatched Cesar Juarez, Jessie Magdaleno and Hidenori Otake in 2018 and will be keen on adding his next opponent to his victims.

The Ghanaian has earned a knockout victory over his last five opponents and could be up for a unification fight with either WBC or WBA champions, Rey Vargas and Daniel Roman, next year, should he successfully defend his title on December 8
