Ghana Football Association Normalisation Committee chairman Kofi Amoah believes the nation's decision to pull out of the 2018-19 Caf inter-club competitions is the best resolve under the circumstance.

For the first time in a long while, the west Africans will have no representation in the Caf Champions League and Caf Confederation Cup as no candidates were put forward to Caf by last week's deadline.

The decision was arrived at on Friday following a meeting between the interim local football's governing body and clubs.

"We took a wise decision that, with the problems we are facing now, it is a good time to concentrate on solving our problems," Amoah told KweseESPN .

"Once the clubs are strong, we can work out a way. When they go now, they don't do well.

"Most of it [reason for poor performance] is financing.

"Ghana used to have four slots in the African club competitions, now we have two, which is a sign that things are not too well.

"Any reasonable person will realize that this is the time for us to focus, restructure, and win the fans and sponsors back."

Ghana's inability to present clubs for Africa is due to the suspension of all local competitive football matches and competitions, including the Premier League, since a corruption exposé in June.

After renowned undercover journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas premiered an investigative documentary that exposed corrupt and match-fixing activities of top officials and referees of the FA, president Kwesi Nyantakyi was forced to resign and has since been under investigation, while the FA premises was declared a crime scene by local police.

The Amoah-led Fifa Normalisation Committee recently took over administration of the FA in a bid to restore normalcy to the nation's game.
