The Adamah Sisters performed the official 'tee off' at Damang Golf competition
'The Adamah Sisters', Lady Engel Adamah and Grace Adamah, were the toast of fans at the ongoing fifth Gold Fields Professional Golfers Association(PGA) Championships, as they performed the official tee off on Day Two of the competition on Thursday.
Fans cheered in admiration as Lady who is only six years old took a powerful swing on hole one to commence activities of the day.
She was followed by her five-year-old sister, Grace, who did not disappoint as she also swang the ball beautifully as if she were a professional.
In a chat with ghanaweb Sports, the sisters who are gradually becoming the new sensation in sports said, they love to play and would develop their skills to the highest level.
Trained by current Gold Fields PGA Golf champion, Kojo Barnni, the young lads said, they take huge inspiration from the defending champion and their dad, Roger Adama who is the vice captain of Tarkwa Golf Club
"I love to play and also our trainer is helping us to develop our skills and become the best in the future," Lady stated.
Lady seem to be developing fast as patrons of last year's competition indicated that, she has improved massively with a far better swing this year.
A rather reserved Grace also believe that, they could become the best in what they do, if constant training and determination.
One of their biggest fan on the day, was the President of the PGA, Ghana, Tony Mintah said, they would put in steps to ensure that the two players develop to the top.
"Not only the two sisters but we would introduce the sport to young people across the country at the school level", he stated.
He added that, though currently mostly old people engage in the sports, he believes that the dynamics would change in future if young people were introduced to the sport.
He commended golfers for their excellent display so far in the competition, adding that "they would continue to work hard to develop maintain the competition and also develop the sports to the highest level".
"Our hope is that, our golfers would be competing at the highest level in the world and that would be achieved with the high standards we are creating through this competition", he stated.
The competition ends on Saturday with distinguished golfers to be rewarded for their efforts with a prize money of GHC135,000 at stake.
