Black Stars coach, James Kwesi Appiah has confirmed talks are underway to renew his contract as head coach of the senior national team.
It emerged on Tuesday that the 58 year old has signed an extension contract with the Ghana FA.
But the former Al Khartoum manager in an interview with Kumasi based Kessben FM revealed he is aware of contract renewal talks initiated by the Ghana FA Normalisation Committee.
“I’m aware that there is talks about signing an extension contract but I don’t know as to when.
"My current contract ends in April,” he added.
The former Al Khartoum manager will be making a second appearance at the tournament if he signs the extension contract after finishing fourth in South Africa 2013.
The Black Stars will face Kenya in March to decide who tops Group F in the qualifying series.
“The team has already qualified but we will play against Kenya to decide who tops the group,” he added.
