Following their 2-1 win over ZESCO United in the second group game of the CAF Confederation Cup, Asante Kotoko trainer CK Akonnor has expressed excitement over the feat.
Two first half goals from a deflected screamer from Kwame Bonsu and a tap in by Emmanuel Gyamfi put the Porcupines ahead in the game.
But substitute Ghanaian striker Rahim Osmanu came off the bench to pull one back for ten visitors.
Speaking to the FootballMadeInGhana.com after the game, the Akonnor couldn’t hide his excitement after his side laboured to get their first victory.
“We played against a very strong side and I’m happy we won.
” It was a difficult game and we fought for what we deserved. I’m very happy,” Akonnor noted.
Asante Kotoko will trek to Zambia for their next group clash with Nkana.
