Aduana Stars skipper Yahaya Mohammed has revealed his desire to stage a return to Asante Kotoko claiming he can do better than Songne Yacouba.

Yahaya who earlier had stints with the Porcupine Warriors believes he can be a better replacement for Yacouba who is on the move, and even perform better that the Burkinabe.

Yacouba has been the subject of transfer with reports of interest from ZESCO United and Orlando Pirate.

The Burkina Faso international has not kicked a ball for the Reds since the start of the NC Special Competition, insisting he wants to leave.

Following reports of striker’s imminent departure from Kotoko, the hunt for a new forward has become necessary with Yahaya Mohammed’s name popping up.

Mohammed says he can fill the void to be left by Yacouba.

“I will not reject an Asante Kotoko off if they approach me and I will do my best for them,” he told Light FM.

“I will also do more than Sogne Yacouba is doing for them right now,” he added.

Yahaya Mohammed had a brief spell with the Porcupine Warriors in the past before leaving for to continue his career abroad.

He has previously played for Murcielagos in Mexico and is currently with Premier League Champions Aduana Stars.
