Ministry salutes Starlets

Accra, Jan. 24, GNA - The Ministry of Education and Sports has sent a congratulatory message to the national U-17 team, Black Starlets for qualifying to the finals of the next Africa U-17 Championship slated for Gambia.

The Starlets posted a 3-0 victory over their Ethiopian counterparts when they locked horns at the Kumasi Sports Stadium on Sunday.

The Starlets thus qualify on a 4-2 aggregate having lost the first leg duel 2-1 in Addis Ababa a fortnight ago.

A statement signed by Mr Joe Aggrey, Deputy Minister and copied to the GNA Sports urged the team to train seriously towards the tournament to enable them to bring home the ultimate.
