The United States Embassy in Ghana have thrown their weight of support behind the Black Stars ahead of their participation in this year’s Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.
The four-time winners have been drawn in Group F alongside defending champions Cameroon, Guinea Bissau and Benin.
Kwesi Appiah’s men will kickstart their campaign against Benin on June 25, four days before facing the Indomitable Lions.
The Black Stars last Group game will be against Guinea-Bissau on July 2.
Ghana are seeking to end their 37-year wait for continental success, having won their last title in 1982.
Ahead of the tournament opening game, the U.S embassy took to their official twitter account to wish the Black Stars well;
“It’s a football Friday! We are fully rooting for the Black Stars of Ghana as the #AFCON2019 Attachment.png kicks off today.”
