The Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Ghana has been selected as the venue for the 2019/2020 CAF Confederations Cup final.
A grapevine source revealed to FootballMadeInGhana.com that the decision has been taken by CAF’s Executive Committee on Wednesday pending approval from the general assembly tomorrow.
The 2019/2020 Champions League final will also be hosted by the FNB Stadium in South Africa.
This latest development comes following CAF’s decision to adopt one-off finals for Champions League and Confederation Cup on pre-determined neutral grounds from the 2019/2020 edition onwards.
Baba Yara Sports Stadium is Ghana’s largest stadium, with a seating capacity of 40,528. The Kumasi-based Stadium is used mostly for football matches, although it is also used for athletics. It is the home of one of Africa’s most popular football club, Asante Kotoko.
