Former Black Stars Striker Malik Jabir has waded into the Kwesi Appiah saga with the national team as he thinks the country cannot rely on the local based coach going forward.
According to Jabir, Kwesi Appiah has not lived up to expectations as Black Stars coach.
He said it is time for young and upcoming coaches to be given the opportunity to handle the affairs of the team.
“Ghana can’t rely on only Kwesi Appiah. How can only Kwesi Appiah if he doesn’t do well, then the whole nation will be in limbo,” he quizzed.
“Kwesi Appiah is the not the only question mark in the development of our football. What I am suggesting is that, if Kwesi Appiah in all these years couldn’t make his mark, just add him to the scholars.”
“Add more young men who want this opportunity and train them for the task ahead and we will see our level in the next five years.”
