Director of Communication for Asante Kotoko Kennedy Boakye Ansah has maintained Kjetil Zachariassen has the final say on whether Songne Yacouba will feature on Sunday when they come up against Kano Pillars in the second leg of the CAF Champions League preliminary round.
The Burkinabe attacker has returned to the club after he mysteriously disappeared for five weeks. Yacouba has since joined his teammates in training and look set to feature on Sunday.
But Kennedy Boakye Ansah has insisted the coach has the final say on whether the Burkinabe will be in the squad for Sunday’s game or not.
“Kotoko fans love their players including Yacouba, I saw pictures from the training grounds as he was very cordial with the rest of the players” He told Nhyria FM Sports.
“Yacouba has started recovery and if he’s fully fit then the final decision rest on the coaches to either select him or not and the management don’t impose players on the coaches.
“Without Yacouba we had a very good results in Nigeria, we know he’s a very good player and the fans favourite as well, but the coaches have the final say”
Asante Kotoko need to overturn the first leg results against Kano Pillars on Sunday in order to qualify for the next stage of the competition.
