Tamale, June 18, GNA - Mr. Abuga Pele, Minority Spokesman on Education, Youth and Sports on Saturday commended the Black Stars on their impressive performance that ensured their victory over the Bafana Bafana of South Africa with two nil win. He said the Black Stars have once again proven their worth just as in the case of the Starlets and that is a show-case of Ghana's characteristic football quality that can rival any football nation in this world.

"The coach, the technical team and the players need to be commended highly for that impressive win in a hostile land", Mr. Pele told the GNA Sports in a telephone interview from Tamale. He said he was optimistic that once the nation is focused on winning matches and put pieces together, the country can once again gain its lost glory in soccer and called on Ghanaians not to jubilate on the win now but they should pray with the team to win the remaining two qualifying matches.

Mr. Pele said that the remaining two matches were so crucial that the coach and his technical team as well as the players do not have 'to go to bed and relax' but they should rather go into camp as they embarked upon to beat the South Africans. He repeated his call on non-governmental organisations and other corporate bodies to invest in the national teams and develop incentive packages to the players as motivation to enable them put up their best in national assignments.
