It was a sight to behold yesterday as the Asante Kotoko team bus triumphantly left the Accra Sports Stadium after their victory over Hearts of Oak.
The red, yellow and white bus left the stadium in a magnificent style despite coming to the stadium earlier in a calm but confident manner before the start of the game.
The Porcupine Warriors had fought hard to defeat their arch-rivals for the first time in the Ghana Premier League since 2016 and the victory was celebrated in wild fashion.
Justice Blay put the Porcupines ahead after he headed in a cross from Augustine Okrah in the eleventh minute. Hearts of Oak levelled up in the second half when striker Joseph Esso restored parity.
The Reds continued to threaten the Phobians and deservedly earned a penalty kick which was beautifully converted by Nabby Keita who sent goalkeeper Richard Arthur the wrong way.
The Porcupine fans could not hold back their joy after the game as they celebrated throughout the stadium.
The fans queued up at the stadium as they waited earnestly for their team bus to leave the stadium in grand style.
What was supposed to be a journey of a few seconds or minutes ended up being a victory parade and procession as the fans stopped their bus to congratulate their gallant men for their outstanding performance over their arch-rivals. The fans waved their flags as they bid the players and staff farewell on their journey.
At some point, it took some club officials to step out of the bus to beg the fans to pave way for them to leave the stadium to their hotel to rest after a tiring game.
