Celebrated English commentator, Peter Drury has revealed that whenever he thinks of Ghana, the memory of Luiz Suarez's handball incident comes back to mind.

A decade ago at the 2010 FIFA World Cup staged in South Africa, the Black Stars were denied qualification to the semi-finals of the global showpiece when Suarez used his hand to keep out what would have been a winning goal for the West African side.

Subsequently, the Uruguayan was red-carded but his team went on to win on penalties at the end of the extra time.

In an exclusive interview with ace Ghanaian broadcaster Nana Aba Anamoah, Peter Drury who is adored all over the world has revealed that the mention of Ghana brings back the memory of Suarez.

“When I think of Ghana, I think of the Ayews, of course, I think of Luiz Suarez”, the celebrated commentator said.

He added. “The broken hearts. I think of South Africa because you were the African nation that impacted most at that World Cup which was a great World Cup. But for that mistake, you would have gone that further,” Drury said.

“Yeah, I’m sure you haven’t [forgiven Suarez] because that World Cup was a never to be forgotten World Cup and Ghana’s part in that was huge because you had that part in the African narrative. So honestly, when you ask me what I think of Ghana it is that.”
