Ashantigold defender Kwadwo Amoako says his mum cried after he told her of his maiden national team call up.
The right back was named in Coach C.K Akonnor's 23-man squad for the AFCON double header against Sudan later this month.
It was Amoako's first ever invite to the senior national team, and he disclosed he was happy to get the call up.
“I will thank God almighty for my call up and I was excited when I heard it,' he told Ash FM.
“Every player’s belief is to play in the national team and I have believe in myself.
“I went to train when I came back I heard my name on my radio as the presenter mentioned the list of the Black Stars squad so I didn’t panic. All my team mates came to my room with congratulatory messages”.
He added, “My mother was happy for my call-up and she started crying on phone advising me to work hard and she will also back me in prayers”.
Amoako joined the Miners from Techiman Eleven Wonders before the start of the season.
