Kwasi Appiah to engage GFA in legal tussle over unpaid salaries

Kwasi Appiah has reportedly instructed his lawyer Thadeus Sory to take legal action against the Ghana Football Association (GFA) over his unpaid salaries.

Kwasi Appiah is understood to owed five months of outstanding salaries by the Ghana Football Association (GFA).

Appiah who was on a monthly salary of $35,000 will, therefore, receive accumulated salary arrears of $300,000.

A report by Ghanasoccernet indicates that Kwesi Appiah was angered by a directive from the Ghana Football Association instructing him to return all the properties of the association which are in his possession which aided him to work as the head coach of the Black Stars.

According to the report, he returned the items last Friday and has afterwards informed his counsel to take action against the GFA to retrieve the $300,000 owed him in salary.

Kwesi Appiah in his second stint worked with the senior national football team of Ghana served for two years from 2017 to 2019.

He was replaced by his assistant coach CK Akonnor in January 2020.
