Asante Kotoko Executive Chairman Dr Kwame Kyei has been dealt a massive blow following reports that his nominees to serve on the club's board has been rejected by the Manhyia Palace.
The Porcupine Warriors are racing against time to constitute a board of directors which is a requirement of the Club Licensing System.
According to a report by Kumasi-based Fox 97.9 FM, the Palace's Chief of Staff Kofi Badu refused to approve the likes of Nana Gyembibi Coker, George Amoako, Nana Boakye and Ankobeahene.
Asante Kotoko is owned by the Ashanti Kingdom with every Asantehene as Life Patron of the club.
This means the club could not meet the 3 April, 2020 deadline set by the Ghana FA Club Licensing Board.
Kotoko face a hefty fine and could have their license withdrawn.
