Medeama SC goalkeeper Eric Ofori Antwi has taken a swipe at those calling for pay cut in the country amid Coronavirus storm.
According to him, the call to slash down salaries of local players is an approach that will make them suffer and has called on club owners not to reduce their salaries.
The coronavirus outbreak has brought all football related activities to a halt including Ghana football.
It is believed that clubs in the country will have limited income streams especially from match days which is a huge part of their revenue.
Several clubs in Europe have already implemented the wage cut strategy with others seriously considering the redundancy scheme.
However, the Black Stars B short stopper insist that wage cuts cannot be implemented in Ghana as he believes most of the players would suffer.
“This is because most players feel they don’t get what they expect from Clubs and some takes care of their families as well with the little they earn. Players will suffer if implemented.” He told Price FM.
