Inter Allies goalkeeper, Gideon Ahenkorah has disclosed that he left Chelsea because their club chairman, Nana Kwame slapped his face in the dressing room during their local derby match against Bechem United.

Speaking to Don Summer on floodlight, Ahenkorah stated that he never kept the post again for the blues at Berekum, and eventually left after the incident.

“A defensive error made us concede a goal within 20mins of the first half. At the dressing room during half time, Nana Kwame furiously walked in, started shouting at me demanding reasons why I conceded such cheap goal. Before I could opened my mouth to utter a word I had already received a slap from him,” Gideon Ahenkorah said.

“Our coach was at the washroom so none of us could stop him from doing that. The technical team later explained the issue to Nana Kwame and he felt sorry for such act but the damage had already been done.

I pulled off my stuff and decided not to be in post for the second half and no amount of apology made me reverse that decision” says Ahenkorah. He added that he had an offer from Bechem United before the match so supporters of Berekum Chelsea were accusing him of deliberately conceding such goal because they thought he had an intension to join Bechem United.

“I left the club three days after the incident for Bechem United where I spent three month. Later, I received a contract from Inter Allies which I signed two years for the club” Gideon Ahenkorah concluded.
