Ghanaian international, Bernard Tekpetey is finding it difficult to gain playing time at Fortuna Düsseldorf following his slow start to the season as a result of injuries.
The pacey attacker joined the German Bundesliga side on a 2-year deal from Schalke 04 in the 2019 summer transfer window.
Despite joining with a lot of expectations, he has not been able to replicate the same form he displayed last season which led to his signing.
With the team fighting relegation as the season nears its conclusion, Fortuna Düsseldorf manager Uwe Rösler has decided not to show mercy and continues to drop the big players who have not been able to prove themselves.
Due to that, Ghana’s Bernard Tekpetey is constantly being overlooked on matchdays with most of his appearances coming as a substitute.
In the last 8 matches of Fortuna Düsseldorf, the 23-year-old has only played a part in 3 of them. He has missed the remaining 5 mostly as an unused substitute.
He hopes to play a part in his team’s encounter against Hoffenheim later this afternoon.
