Former Liberty Professional head coach, J.E Sarpong has revealed that 60% of players in the Ghana Premier League and the National Division One League are into smoking marijuana, better known as weed.
The veteran coach in an interview with Accra-based Angel FM on Wednesday revealed that some of the clubs he has coached in the country had players who smoked weed before coming to the field.
According to him he had no problems with players who smoked weed in his team as long as it didn’t affect their performance but rather helped his team to win.
“It is a bad practice if it will win the match I don’t mine. If my team win the match, I take my winning bonus and am gone”
“What I will do for my team to win is what is important”, He added.
Coach Sarpong has vast experience in the Ghana Premier league due to his stint with Accra Great Olympics, Asante Kotoko and Liberty Professional.
