Former Ghana goalkeeper Richard Kingson has advised Daniel Amartey to depart from Leicester City when the transfer window opens.

Though he looked to be one of the more promising youngsters Leicester City had at their disposal, Amartey has yet to feature for the first-team since breaking his ankle way back in October 2018 against West Ham.

The 25-year-old has suffered setback after setback which has prevented the 25-year-old from re-establishing himself under current manager Brendan Rodgers.

Despite having two more years remaining on his contract, former Blackpool goalkeeper Kingson believes the defender should leave the King Power Stadium this summer to continue his career elsewhere.

“It is a good time [for Daniel Amartey] to move. He has to get playing time and brand his career again," he told Joy FM.

"If there is a chance for him to play there, he can stay but in this situation, he has to move.”

"If it is not in England or anywhere in Europe, he can go to a good team and play there for one year or two years," he concluded.

Amartey has been linked to his former side, FC Copenhagan.
