AshantiGold defender Richard Osei Agyemang says the players have no excuse but to be battle-ready for the club’s African adventure if the team’s top brass sanctions such a move.
The Obuasi based club emerged a beneficiary of a decision by the Ghana FA’s Executive Council to cancel the 2019-20 football season declaring all results expunged.
As a result, teams that represented Ghana in the CAF inter clubs competitions last year were once again chosen to do so this term.
This meant AshantiGold will for the second time on the bounce represent in the CAF Confederation Cup while Asante Kotoko represents in the CAF Champions League.
Speaking in an interview with Kumasi based OTEC FM, Osei Agyemang admitted the players will not turn down such an opportunity to play in the competition if the helmsmen favours their participation.
“We are ready if the team owner is ready who are we (Players) to say no. Medeama SC and Aduana Stars will never say that they are not ready if they got this opportunity,” Osei Agyemang told OTEC FM.
