Black Queens defender Linda Eshun has expressed her disappointment with the cancellation of the African Women's Cup of Nations by the Confederation of African Football.
CAF decided on Tuesday to cancel the showcase mainly due to the spread and fear of the Coronavirus pandemic.
The decision means that the women will have to wait for two more years to play in the tournament.
Linda, a player for Hasaacas revealed that she and her teammates wanted to win the AWCON but the decision from CAF has changed everything.
“It’s painful, it hurts that there is not going to be AFCON this year which was initially scheduled for November-December due to the Coronavirus we are not going to have AFCON."
“Probably 2022 that is when we are going to play the Africa Women’s Championship, It’s painful because we were aiming to go to this year AFCON and win some trophy for Ghana but our plans have been changed,” she concluded.
