Follow your heart - Derek Boateng advises Arsenal target Thomas Partey

Former Fulham midfielder, Derek Boateng has urged Thomas Partey to follow his heart and join a club where he will be happy playing for in the midst of all the attention he is having ahead of the summer transfer window.

In the past year, the Atletico Madrid midfielder has been at the center of several transfer speculations with links to the English Premier League, the Italian Serie A, and the French Ligue 1 all said to be on the cards.

With a transfer very likely in the next few months, Derek Boateng has advised Partey to think carefully before taking any decision. According to him, the player is at a crucial point in his career and needs to move to a club where he will be respected.

“This is the advice I will give to him [Partey] now. This is the most difficult time in his career. This is because of the questions and messages. I am not even his agent but fans text me personally to convince Partey to move to Arsenal and Manchester United. This is the moment he needs to sit down and really concentrate", Derek Boateng told Joy FM.

He continued, “For me I think he needs to follow his heart. He needs to be in a place where he will be happy, respected, and get a lot of playing time. You can make all the money you want but if the coach doesn’t play you, you won’t be happy."
