Accra, June 9, GNA - rLG Communications, a pioneer telecommunications assembly company on Thursday announced a 10,000 Ghana Cedis package towards the 36th edition of the Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG)/Awards Night.
The package comprises 3000 Ghana Cedis cash, 25 mobile phones for the award winners and a laptop for the Association's Secretariat. The sponsorship package is geared towards the successful organisation of the event to honour distinguished sports personalities who distinguished themselves during the 2010 season.
David Afugani, Chief Marketing Officer of rLG Communication said the gesture of the company symbolizes their endorsement of the event which seeks to reward excellence in sports.
He said the objective of the SWAG Awards is in tandem with their mission of celebrating the youth's effort and enduring their brand to the heart of Ghanaians.
Afugani added that the core of sports revives around the youth and he believes their association with SWAG provides them the opportunity to contribute to sports development as well as sports journalism in the country.
Ackah Anthony, SWAG President commended rLG Communication for coming on board to sponsor this year's event, a cause he described as shared by all Ghanaians.
He said the Association shares in the values of the rLG Communications with the focus on youth for sports development and assured them of the expected mileage in their promotional campaigns towards the success of the event.
As part of the contribution, rLG Communication will feature prominently in promotional campaigns, including event brochure and advertisements in both print and electronic media of the Awards Night.
The event has been fixed for Saturday, July 2 at the Banquet Hall, State House, Accra.
