Controversial dancehall artiste, Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jnr, known in showbiz as Shatta Wale is in Chicago for the 2018 International Reggae & World Music Awards (IRAWMA).
The ‘Taking Over’ hitmaker will receive the award for his outstanding contributions to reggae music in Ghana and at the global level.

Since its inception in 1982, IRAWMA has acknowledged and honoured the accomplishments and contributions of reggae and world music artistes, including songwriters, performers, promoters, and musicians.
Shatta Wale was adjudged the best African song and entertainer at the 2016 edition of the International Reggae & World Music Awards (IRAWMA).
The event is slated for Sunday, March 18 at the Logan Center for Arts, University of Chicago, Illinois.
