This King Kong Agbeko might be too young to have heard of the tragedy that happened in the ring thirty years ago.

Thirty years ago,South Korean boxer Kim Duk-Koo entered a Las Vegas boxing ring wearing a T-shirt with inscription, KILL OR BE KILLED in his boxing title fight against Ray Boom Boom Mancini in a grueling 15 rounds encounter that ended in his death after being pounded mercylessly for 45 minutes in a match that the Refree should have stopped in the 7th or 8th round.

This tragedy in the ring changed boxing as we knew it and title fights were reduced from 15 rounds to 12 rounds.

Agbeko should not be talking about killing somebody because I don't want to see what happened to Kim Duk-Koo happening to him.

I watched this tragedy on TV life my first year in USA and will never forget this tragedy as long as I live. It was a massacre by two lethal fists from Boom Boom Mancini.

Great recollection, Sammy, the Sheriff. These fighting words should be kept in the heart and never to be uttered nor written down. It invokes strange evil forces in the universe. This boxer Kim also wrote these words on the table lamp in his hotel and boxed holes in the hotel walls whilst muttering those words. But he was a brave man. It was a brutal fight in which Boom Boom Mancini was dedicating the victory to his father and Kim for his ego. Limited boxing skills by both boxers with no attempt to bob and weave nor dance, run nor hide nor pace oneself. Kim fought like a dead man with eyes glazed from the 8th round onwards. Not being aware of the unfolding drama, Mancini's trainer said " You have to kill him tonite to win". Thats what happened. To Kim the honourable boxer, death in defeat was a bearable outcome than living with defeat.
The same also happened to the original Davey Moore who died in the 1960s in brutal fight with Sugar Ramos of Cuba.
Agbeko "King Kong" let God grant you victory today under Grace in a Perfect Way so that it harms noboby.

All the brags went down, and D.K. Poison was almost killed right before our own eyes. He was literally butchered. He bled profusely from cuts under, over his eyes, nose and chin. It was the bell that saved him and Ghana from death.

My advice to Agbeko is: it is better to be the underdog, keep your cool and not to create hype. Don't give your opponent the ammunition to prepare better than you raise a better fight. Simply be ready and fight harder.

Sir, DK Poison actually fought Danny Little Red Lopez at the Accra Sports Stadium and not Sugar Ramos. In the DK fight, DK hit this guy with all his arsenal , looking for a knockout which never came. Then DK was out of gas and was bruised really badly. It was a title defence for DK who knocked out Flipper Uehera and Shige Fukuyama both from Japan. In the return match in the US, Lopez stopped Poison in around round 7. It was rumoured that Lopez was using banned drugs.

The other fight was Sugar Ramos versus Ghanaian Floyd Robertson at the Accra Sports stadium in 1964. Floyd has beaten Joe Tetteh. Sugar Ramos has just killed Davey Moore. Floyd trained so hard day and night working on a KO punch. Sammy Docherty was his manager.Local boxers and trainers including Armstrong Agbana, Teddy Meho, Love Allotey, Roy Ankrah all gave a helping hand. The match was promoted by Jack Solomons from England. The fight was all fireworks with both boxers dishing out and taking punishment. Floyd was slightly better in skills but Sugar has more guts. Floyd knocked down Ramos two times once before round seven and later before the last round but his KO punch failed him. He could not knock Ramos out! The judges were all from South America and included the WBA president. Victory was given to Sugar Killer Ramos who was the one who nearly got killed that night in Accra. This result was listed as one of the 10 worst boxing decisions of all time.

Agbeko as a boxer is the worse Ghanaian boxer i have ever seen.No wonder he only manage to win IBO title but not WBA or WBO belt because over there the title contenders isn't a child play.

This Agbeko guy have nothing as a boxer.No speed, no feet work, no power and his punches, no good reflexes absolutely nothing.He's very lucky to be in a generation where BOXING as sport is absolutely down.If he could be during the era of 70's to the lated 90's as a professional boxer i don't even think he could even have the chance to fight for WORLD TITLE despite it being IBO title which he ones won.

Any one who will pay money to watch this boxer to give a splendid fight will be disappointed big time.Unless his opponent is a worse boxer.
