Accra, Jan. 2, GNA - The Accra bourse was up by 5.54 points on the first day of trading in the New Year, thanks to a 200-cedi gain by British America Tobacco.
The tobacco company ended the first day of trading up at 5,400 cedis and was one of two equities that saw price changes during trading.
The other equity was Ghana Commercial Bank (GCB), which gained one cedi at 8,171 cedis.
Shares traded totalled 497,300 shares and change for the year was 0.16 per cent.
Market capitalisation began the year at 12,630.79 billion cedis.
