Agility Africa has commenced construction of a USD 13 million expansion of the Agility Warehouse Park in Tema to meet continued and growing demand.

Agility is investing in and developing a network of international standard Warehouse Parks across Africa. Agility Africa is part of the Agility group, a world-leading provider of logistics solutions with 24,000 employees and revenue of more than US$ 5 billion.

Agility Warehouse Parks (AWP’S) provide world class warehousing infrastructure to support the development of local, regional and international trade enabling multinational and local companies to access the burgeoning African market by providing ready to move-in facilities in a secure environment with consistent power and internet connectivity.

AWP warehouses are used by companies for distribution, storage, assembly, processing and light manufacturing. Agility Africa warehouses allow companies to avoid having to make expensive capital investments in non-core assets by funding and developing built-to-suit facilities to meet specific customer requirements.

Agility’s Warehouse Park opened in Tema, Ghana in 2016, with a targeted built up area of 100,000 sqm when completed, Phase 1 and 2 are fully occupied and Agility has invested a further USD13 Million for the construction of Phases 3,4 and 5 which will be operational by quarter one, 2019 said Charles Gassoub – Vice President West Africa.

Fred Kojo Ellis - Ghana Country Manager said: “The Agility Warehouse Park at Tema has already established itself as the ideal location to set up a West African regional hub. Likewise, under the Agility SME program, local Ghanaian SME customers are benefitting from access to quality warehousing for only three months deposit. Customers choosing the Agility Warehouse Park will overcome one of the biggest fundamental constraints in doing business in West Africa – the lack of quality international standard infrastructure.”

Speaking on this latest Agility investment into the region, Geoffrey White, Agility CEO Africa said, “Agility is a world leader in developing warehouse parks around the globe and is committed to developing a network of quality Warehouse Parks in Africa. By providing world class warehousing in Africa. Agility Warehouse Parks help companies operate in Africa with the reliable, modern and secure infrastructure they need to grow their business.”

White went on to add, “Ghana is still an attractive location for the first Agility Warehouse Park thanks to a long term stable and transparent Government, fast growing GDP and increasing prominence as a regional commercial hub in West Africa. Quality logistics infrastructure is a key driver of new foreign direct investment, stimulating improved trade flows, prosperity and job creation.”
