Mr. Abednego Tetteh, Assemblyman for Gbegbu, in the Ablekuma South Constituency says the assembly plans to stop those who have turned the Dansoman Beach into a place of convenience.
He said to stop this act, the assembly has received a grant of 50 million cedis from the European Union (EU) with the help of Hon. Theresa Ameley Tagoe, MP for the area, to build a KVIP for the area.
Mr. Tetteh said the beach will be developed to attract tourists and other visitors.
In an interview with The Accra Daily Mail, he said three major problems of the area are sanitation, layout of buildings and drainage.
The constituency has a rubbish container but the contractor in charge has refused to place them there because he says he has not been paid for the past two years.
The assemblyman said because of this, people throw rubbish about indiscriminately. He said he is doing everything to bring the container back to the area.
He said in the mean time, every month the school children, churches and clubs go round the constituency to clean up.
Mr. Tetteh said the layout of some buildings in the electoral area is very bad. Certain places are not accessible by cars.
