Express International selects Ghana as WA head office

In support of the government's Golden Age of Business Policy, Express International Africa Division manufacturers of Executive diaries and other quality corporate promotional items have selected Ghana, as its West African Head office,

The Chairman of Express International Africa Division, Brendan Cody, made this known when he paid a courtesy call on the Minister for Information and Presidential Affairs, Jake Obetsebi-Lamptey.

Mr. Cody, based in Europe, said that the company's core market is the Middle East and Africa. According to him, the company has been penetrating the West African market for the past few years during which period, It has been supplying diaries direct from the factory to some major Ghanaian Institutions.

"Ghana is a peaceful secure country with great people and therefore we have decided to site our West African Office here I "', he said. He added that arrangements have been made to rent office accommodation immediately in Accra and later build the company's own office.

According to Mr. Cody the company has short, medium and long term plans for Ghana one of which Is to carry out part of its production process in Ghana. This would facilitate better service to the West African market whilst at the same time offer employment opportunities to Ghanaians.

Mr. Obetsebi-Lamptey expressed appreciation for the company's decision to invest In this country and promised government's appropriate support.

Referring to the similarities between Ireland's exploitation of its periphery strategic location to large markets in Europe, on one hand, and Ghana's desire to do likewise for the massive West African Market, on the other, the Honourable Minister showed great interest In Express International's strategy to serve its fast growing African customer base from Accra.
