GHACEM pays GH¢2.5m dividend to gov't

The Ghana Cement Company Limited (GHACEM) on Tuesday paid 2.5 million Ghana Cedis to government as its share of the company’s dividend.

This brings the total dividend paid by the cement manufacturer during the 2012 financial year to 4.4million Ghana cedis.

Director in charge of Strategy and Corporate Affairs at GHACEM, Dr. George Dawson Amoah, expressed the company’s gratitude to government for its support over the years.

He announced that GHACEM will be increasing its production capacity from 3.4 million to 4.4 million tonnes by the end of 2014.

The Deputy Finance Minister, Kweku Ricketts-Hagan, who received the cheque commended GHACEM for honoring its obligation to the state.
